This is not a question just wanted to share this info and not sure where to put it ☺️

I know many people follow a Mediterranean diet to help with RA but when you look online for recipes many are expensive ingredients and are not actual recipes. I know of an actual dietician who is from Greece (she lives in US also) who has a cookbook, along with social media that is really true Mediterranean cooking. Her recipes are what I grew up with but never got from the relatives etc who made them. They're… read more

Members welcomed a suggestion to explore authentic Mediterranean cooking through a Greek dietician's website, particularly appreciating recipes that use affordable, simple ingredients instead of expensive or fancy dishes. Several members shared their experiences adapting to the diet, with one finding that eliminating dairy significantly improved bloating and intestinal issues, and another discovering tomatoes trigger flare-ups, leading to creative substitutes like refried bean pizza sauce. A recurring theme was the challenge of balancing cultural food traditions with modern dietary needs, navigating family preferences after years together, and recognizing that food choices are deeply personal and everyone must find what works best for their own body.

Going to a plant diet is supposed to really help ??? Be reading up on it . My diet for sure affects my RA . Found that tomatoes is now a no-no for me . So my wifey found a new way to make me pizza. She mixes refried beans with garlic sauce to replace the tomato sauce.. It is delicious !!!!

Yes Isin I totally get it. My Mom/family is from SoIT and she and my Grandma's made sure we got good food. But unfortunately here they were Americanizing the diet so they could fit in. I remember taking certain items for lunch at school only to be made fun of bc I wasn't eating Doritos and baloney.

Hi Debra,
I live in Turkey on the Mediterranean so I have been lucky to consume a Mediterranean diet all my life. But on the other hand I did my body bad by consuming gluten suger dairy and processed foods. Now I have cut it all out and stick to Mediterranean diet. Its what I grew up with. Even when we lived in Australia when I was a kid mum always cooked Mediterranean way.
