I am currently on plaquenil only and have had much success with it. Now because they are using it to treat covid 19 I am no longer able to fill my prescription. I don't want to be put on anything else and I'm really upset that they might try to put me on something stronger. Is anyone else experiencing this, and does anyone know if there is a lateral option rather than a stronger one?
I'm on meditrexate,prednisone,folic acid and hydroxychloroqine,now plaquenil
Plaquenil is 1 of two meds I take currently for RA. I have had some difficulty filling the Plaquenil script but was eventually able to get a month's worth. I usually get 3 month's worth. If I have trouble refilling it again I will taper the dose to one a day instead of 2,and stretch it out. It works very well for me and I'd hate to have to reduce it or go off it for any length of time. Hope you can get a refill soon!
Yes my dr was going to try Sulfasalazine but I am allergic to sulfa. So if you're not allergic to sulfa I think it may be a good choice if the dr recommends it. Maybe try it just for now?
Just remember that Sulfasalazine is made of Sulfa and you cant be allergic to any sulfa meds; I am so I could not take it!
I used to get a 90-day supply, last one was for 30-days and I'm very grateful that I can still get it.
