Members enthusiastically swapped Mediterranean bowl ideas in response to the question about recipes, sharing a wide variety of flavorful combinations using grains like farro, quinoa, orzo, and brown rice paired with proteins like shrimp, tuna, white beans, canned salmon, and ground turkey. Several members highlighted a go-to dressing made with olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and garlic, and recommended ingredients like fresh mint, goat cheese, feta, olives, and Fage Greek yogurt as creamy, protein-rich additions. A recurring theme was keeping meals simple and adaptable, with members encouraging each other to mix and match what they enjoy and have on hand.

I use Fage. Great to marinate with. But I use mayo bc I use it in French recipes. I use that olive oil to stir fry veggies but I like Partanna from Sicily and Kkasandrinos from Greece. They are family owned small batch

My suggestion if you can tolerate it is to use Fage Greek yogurt instead of Mayonnaise. It has a high protein count and very creamy. Berio is authentic Italian Olive Oil 100%. I use that as well.

I use Fage Greek yogurt too. Use it in many ways. May sound strange but I feed it to my cat as she has a sensitive stomach. Seems to help 🤷‍♀️. Also… living in farm country abundant with red meats …. Not a huge meat eater myself but sometime I do enjoy a good lamb chop and love gyros! Lamb needs to be highly seasoned as it isn’t good otherwise. Just my opinion. I’m not marketing meat! Moderation is the key …right?

Mediterranean bowls are a fantastic choice for RA — the diet is linked to less pain, better function, and lower inflammation. The beauty of bowls is how flexible they are, so here's a solid base formula to mix and match:

Pick a grain base:
- Brown rice
- Bulgur
- Barley
- Whole-grain pasta

Add a protein:
- Salmon or canned tuna (aim for 2 servings of fish per week)
- Skinless chicken breast
- Chickpeas or black beans (great plant-based option)
- Lentils

Load up on vegetables:
- Baby spinach or kale
- Cherry tomatoes
- Sugar snap peas
- Roasted or steamed broccoli
- Avocado slices

Top it off:
- A drizzle of olive oil (avoid heating it to keep the healthy fats intact)
- Fresh or jarred ginger for its potential anti-inflammatory benefits
- A squeeze of lemon or lime
- Nuts or seeds for crunch
- Fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley A myRAteam member shared that since starting the Mediterranean diet they noticed more energy — always a win when managing RA!

One easy bowl idea: marinate salmon in soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and a little honey, then serve over brown rice with steamed snap peas and a drizzle of olive oil. Simple, delicious, and packed with anti-inflammatory ingredients.
