I’ve been really anxious about catching something because of the biologics. I want to be out in the world again but not get sick. Things you learned and recommend I don’t do? Or things you recommend I do and feel safe?
Thank you all! I will start small oh and hanitizer is everywhere in my to go areas. The car, the purse, the office. Everywhere!
It's wonderful that you're feeling better and ready to reconnect with the world! That anxiety about getting sick while on biologics is completely valid — biologics can lower your immune defenses, making infections something to take seriously. The good news is there are smart, practical ways to ease back in safely.

I agree with Cindi! I also carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my pocket. I use it when I have to open a door or touch anything that is a common thing for other people to touch (counter tops, door handles ect). I do this because it helps the feeling of needing to go wash my hands all the time. I hope you are able to get back out there and feel good about it!
@A myRAteam Member every tip I had to offer has been covered by the Site AI (who still is in need of a name Admins)
I am much the same way as you and I stay away from public events and crowds. As in I do not attend Craft Fairs or ball games at our high school. I go out to a restaurant with friends occasionally but not real often. And this winter I will most likely be a hermit and stay home. Doesn't bother me to stay home. Thats my Happy Place!!
When/if you do venture out - I would start small. A place not overly peopley! Less people is always better!
Oh! One thing AI did not mention - stay away from children! I love them, but they come with a LOT of Germs! Especially school age children! I worked at a school a couple of decades back and I was always coming down with something. That's long before I developed RA.
You can always wear a mask if you feel uncomfortable if you want to. It's not as common any more but I still see people wearing them.
Best of Luck! Take it slow and simple for a while and see how it goes!
Carol I'm so sorry you went thru that BS in your group. I'm glad Jessica mentioned hand sanitizer. I'm so used to using it I just presume it's part of everyone's arsenal! Lol! Thanks for that idea @A myRAteam Member! Best of Luck @A myRAteam Member in re-entering the world!
