How do you know if Methotrexate is working like it is supposed to?

I have been taking it since Oct 1025. Started with 5 tablets of the 12.5mg and now on 6 tablets of the 12.5mg. I have been on the 6 tablets for almost 3 months.

I did this past year with hair loss after not taking it due to GI problems being investigated and weight loss. Maybe it was stress but it was when I restarted the MTX that the hair loss kicked in. Who really knows?

Did anyone have a reaction when methotrexate was increased?

I am taking 8 tablets of Methotrexate, 2.5mg for about 8 years now, and I'm sure they are still working for me. That's all I take for RA.
