How do I know if Humira (every 2 weeks since April) and weekly methotrexate are working? I thought my elbow pain would be gone by now but it is getting worse.

Biologic drugs can take up to 6 months to work. Methotrexate takes a while too. Sad but true. Check with your doc though.

Good Sunday Morning Patti,
Hope you are having a pleasant Sunday a.m. The weather here in VA is cool and I am just relaxing.☺️☺️ I don't take humira because of the side effects. But if your elbow isn't any better since April, talk to your dr.

Your elbow and my right arm. The pain in my right arm isn't consistent but when it flares, I can't lift my arm to the shoulder and no higher. I rub it and add heat to it. It helps sometimes, other times....oh well 😒

I was taking Humira every two weeks, but it only helped a bit so the doctor put me on once a week. Just started last Thursday and I still have flares, but not as bad as the one lasting 10 days. Predison helps, but I do not want to use it for too many days.. I hope it works for you.

It took almost six months before I felt significantly better on methotrexate, so give that time. I am not on and have not taken humors so I can’t respond to that med. I’d say at six months, if not better, talk with your doctor. And note, some days I still have significant pain on the methotrexate-pretty much when the weather is real bad I’m not feeling well. So although it helps overall, not all the time.
