Hi everyone, I am trying to connect with anyone here who developed Rheumatoid Arthritis after getting breast implants, and later chose to go through explant surgery.
Did you find that your implants were a major trigger or root cause for your RA? If you had an explant, did your RA symptoms improve, go into remission, or stay the same? I’m trying to figure out if explanting might be a helpful step in my own health journey and would love to hear your personal experiences. Thank you!
The capsules were removed too.
Wow! You have been through a lot. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I guess we never know exactly what triggered our bodies to develop RA but the stress of the chemo could have been it. I hope your joints have given you at least a little bit of relief since getting your implants out!
I had two sets of implants. The first set burst after 4 years. I had saline the first time so I knew right away. I had breast cancer so I elected to have implants. Second set was silicone. After about 4 yrs I noticed my joints aching and I felt terrible. It was then that I was diagnosed with RA. I decided I wanted to remove them. I did not know it but they had burst too.
My body rejects almost every foreign object I had an IUD put in yrs ago my body rejected it and birth Control pills too!
To be honest I have always thought it was the chemo that started my RA
My back surgery kicked started my RA.
I don't have implants but I believe Botox for my frown line triggered my RA.
