I had reconstruction surgery with silicone breast implants after breast cancer in 2013. I started having joint pain and fatigue issues within a year or two, then was diagnosed with RA in January 2017. I am wanting to get the breast implants taken out now, but just wanted to post this question to see it there are others on here being diagnosed with RA after breast implants. Thanks!
Are you by any chance taking an aromatase inhibitor like arimidex? I got RA after a few months of starting that medication after starting arimidex.
I have not personally been in this situation, but I had a good friend that developed RA several years after getting implants. She was a prominent OB/GYN and lost her practice because of her inability to use her hands.
I was diagnosed with RA after breast augmentation but I don't believe it was caused by the implants. I'm dual seropositive for RA and had symptoms prior to breast augmentation.

Yes I am - on it for 18 months now but thinking of changing to Tamoxifen. Were you estrogen positive? Did you do any treatment for breast cancer? I read the studies too but I thought it was 5 years rx vs 10 years rx -no different in mortality. My onco said if I take Arimidex I have a 12% chance of metastasis but without it 40%.
