I struggle with oatmeal in the morning, but it is an excellent idea. I prefer low fat Greek yogurt to provide protein Fresh fruit that is season, other I’ve been using frozen fruits in a pinch. Fruits help provide lots of vitamins. I try different recipes for high protein, muffins as well for quick breakfasts or a snack throughout the day.!

What are the best breakfast options for people with rheumatoid arthritis?

The key to a good RA-friendly breakfast is choosing options that are easy to prepare and don't strain your hands in the morning. Overnight oats are an excellent choice that can be prepared the night before. You can make them with:

• Almond milk or oat milk
• Regular oats
• Honey for sweetness
• Chia seeds for omega-3s
• Optional cocoa powder for flavor
• Topped with dried fruits or banana in the morning To make mornings easier, consider these additional breakfast tips:

• Keep easy-to-prepare breakfast foods readily available
• Set out items the night before to minimize morning preparation
• Have NSAIDs and water by your bedside if needed
• Choose anti-inflammatory foods when possible
• Consider having a warm shower or bath before breakfast to help with morning stiffness

Remember that having breakfast items that don't require much hand manipulation can help avoid early-morning hand pain while still ensuring you get proper nutrition.
