I've always tried to eat Real food , make it from "scratch", like they use to say. lol Never been a chips and little Debbie cakes kind of person. Now, I'm glad to hear that I wasn't putting my kids, they're adults now, at risk back then for cancer now. I read somewhere that the cancer rate is up for the thirty and forty year old's. Which I believe is due to the diet that they grew up on.......
I think if you keep Everything in moderation you can cheat sometimes and eat the chips or a lil Debbie cake, lol just not on a daily basis.
You also have to go with what your body tells you. Pay attention to how your body reacts to certain foods. For me fish, dark green veggies and a sweet potato is a perfect supper, i eat yogurt and fruit in the mornings and snack on the nuts and dried fruit throughout the day. It helps with inflammation and my energy levels. Have fun exploring what works for you, lol

Right now, I'm eating half a cinnamon danish. Sorry up there. The other half tomrrow, if my husband doesn't get it first. Half is better than nothing. I eat what I enjoy in moderation. With many food intolerances and a few doozy food allergies, I eat what I can eat. And carry an epipen for surprises.

My RA isn't food driven, so I don't follow a specific diet. I like to eat what I want and add what I need, all while practicing moderation. I try to fill up first on my proteins, fruits and veggies, and I will add the occasional piece of chocolate when I am feeling like I need a treat.

I've been eating the Mediterranean diet as well. Ive also added walnuts and seeds to my yogurt in the morning and it seems to give me energy. I'm not one that lives to eat, I eat to live, lol. So a handful of the nuts and seeds mixture helps me to maintain when I don't have an appetite.
