I take my methotrexate every Friday night and I have noticed that by Thursday and into Friday, I flare. Is this common or will my dose need to be upped? I will take my 10th dose tonight.

Same thing has been happening to me. I take it and I feel like the next couple of days I get worst. I take 8 pills along with Folic Acid and I’m on Orencia IV infusion as well.

Hi Stacie, I am on 25mg injectable methotrexate. I inject on Mondays and found it was wearing off by Thursday and I had symptoms through the weekends. Dr added Leflunomide and now I can almost get through the weekend. I believe 25mg is the highest you can go.

Been there w/only taking M. tablets then had to go on injections! Now I do shots monthly, M. still every other week! Since not working well for you either, you may need to go on shots!

Hi Mumzy, I’m taking mtx for over a year. My original dose was 4 then upped to 6 because my numbers were not great. I don’t have any problems with 6 . Dr recently upped to 8 because she thinks Ra might be morphing into psoriatic arthritis. I only have a few small spots. I took 8 one week only and went back to 6. The 8 pills made me feel so sick 🤢 definitely talk to your doctor 🤗
