Can anyone tell me how they did and what to expect if to get the covid 19 vaccine.
I am very concerned with having a serious flare up?
Has anyone experienced this? Anything would be appreciated.
Thank you

Members shared their experiences getting vaccinated for COVID-19 while managing rheumatoid arthritis, with the majority reporting minimal to no side effects beyond a sore arm, though a few experienced temporary symptoms like headaches, chills, fatigue, or joint stiffness that typically resolved within a few days. Several members noted they received different vaccines including Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, and AstraZeneca, with some taking biologics at the time, and overall found the experience manageable with no serious flares reported. A recurring theme was reassurance that having RA did not appear to worsen vaccine side effects, with members emphasizing that their doctors strongly recommended vaccination and they felt relieved to have taken that step.

I had a rough time after the second Moderna dose, but the side effects only lasted 24 hours and it was the same kind of side effects often reported by individuals without RA (headache and muscle aches). I recently got a booster and the side effects were barely noticeable.

Having RA did not seem to make the side effects worse. My doctors strongly recommended the vaccine, and I'm glad I got it.
