Hello, my question is regarding dairy products. I am a vegetarian, but my sister in law is a vegan. She is totally against eating any animal products whatsoever. I think there is some merit in thisconsidering all the steroids, antibiotics ect they inject most cows and chickens that are grain fed. What is your take on eating cheese with RA? Or even eggs? Will this cause more inflammation? Thanks

Almond milk is filled with chemicals. I eat granola with grapefruit juice. I use none dairy creamer in my coffee. I have cheese. I avoid a glass of milk or a bowl of cereal, but sometimes I need Cheerios with bananas and milk! I've been dairy free, gluten free, meat free, and it mattered mostly to my waistline, to cut out whole food groups. I find vegan hard to do. I love eggs and I've struggled with anemia, not iron poor blood. Eggs are good for me. I can go without meat. But I've been eating chicken (gross is my first response. Yum, my second) and some read meat and I'm not anemic for the first time in decades. I have been able to keep my blood protein up. Haven't had a transfusion in 2 years. My daughter says when I was in MICU the dr told her I'd be best off on a plant based diet. I eat more veggies than I used too. I was vegetarian as a teen. So if I'm ridiculously trapped in a flare, I eat no sugar, very little milk (coffee if not non dairy creamer from the freezer in the grocery store), avoid red meat, limit fruit. I love fruit. I eat a lot of fruit. It's sugar, healthy sugar but I overdo it. Sugar is pain. Sadly. My parrot Barney. He's eating cucumber. He's 26 years old.
I love eating cereal , when i was first put on Methotrexate if i ate any cereal or drank milk or ate icecream ot would really bother my stomach never had a problem with eggs and cheese. After switching from Methotrexate to Leflunamide i can now eat my cereal again
My Mediterranean diet helps me
I have found I cannot eat strawberries or eggs without a flare. So far, cheese has not been an issue. I track my food intake on the loose it app, for this purpose. If I flare I go back and look to see what I have eaten and if there is a pattern, the eliminate the offender. The Mediterranean diest works best for me. I think it is different for each person, just like with our meds what works for one doesn't for another! I hope this helps! Good Luck!
Eating dairy products doesn't seem to bother me but I imagine it depends different people's bodies react different
