Puffy redness is a muscle reaction to the injection that should not last more than a day. Injecting in the stomach is usually more successful than the thigh . However, I prefer the thigh.

Yeah I get swelling at the injection site every time to varying extents. Never a concern though

I am having the same issue first time just a little red 5 weeks later it about 5 inches across bright red and swollen call RA Dr on Monday.

Ice packs help. Once you get more practice & less nervous doing the injection, the less problem you will have. I do mine in my thigh area, it seems less touchy than the stomach. I give myself a treat afterwards, usually something chocolate.

Apply ice pack, after injection, 15 minutes. Reduces and/or eliminates reaction.
