Hi have anyone had bad side effects from Methotrexate. I was put on this medication but they never added folic acid and i ended up with heart failure after using it for 5 months. Went to see another doctor after we moved who picked up the heart failure and stopped the methotrexate treatment immediately and i have been battling for a year now to recover from it. Methotrexate was the first drug my Dr.'s tried me on. I got very sick nausea & vomiting that was the injection. Then they tried the pills. The enamel started coming off my teeth. I started loosing my hair & eventually ended up in the hospital in renal failure. Arava is nothing but methyltrexate & plaquenil combined. I'm a CRNA I know most of these drugs but never had to take any of them until I was dg. with severe degeneration from RA. I have also tried Cimzia & Humira. More side effects months of weakness & pain. I have finally given up on all the treatments they are like putting poison in your body. Good luck to those who can take them. I'm just treating the symptoms with diet, exercise & supplements now. Along with lots & lots of prayer! If you don't have a peace in your heart about taking the methyltrexate then go with your gut feeling. Don't do it! Some of these drugs they are using will kill you!

im on a low dose of predisone that helps me, im too afraid to take all the other stuff, one lady was dx with pulmonary fibrosis after using methotrexate for ra, i also take a good tumeric/curcumin pill. fish oil, magnesium oregonal
