I have/had Dizziness or Vertigo so I went to an ENT and I have Meniere's Syndrome (Fluid in the Inner Ear). Surgery to fix it requires going thru the brain so we aren't doing that!! The Lowest Sodium diet I can manage helps a lot! I also take a Fluid pill.

Yours could be a side affect from any RA meds you take so I'd tell your Dr 1st. Any meds can cause side affects and at any time too no matter how long you've been on them.

I just had to get off Zocor for high cholesterol after being on it for years because I had horrible muscle pain and cramps. I told my RA Dr and he suggested stopping it for a few weeks to see if anything changed. They resolved completely!! So, I went to my GP and changed cholesterol meds.
No more muscle pains!

I've found that having RA and having a lowered Immune System due to the Methotrexate I take; I've gotten odd reactions, developed allergies and gotten sick so much more than ever before.

I've had RA for 8 Yrs and I finally feel free to ask any Dr any question I have because it's my health and only up to me to do what's best for my body. I've found by not asking questions that I've been sick or hurt with something that could have been treated a lot sooner if I had only spoken up.

I will tell anyone that I do not ask foolish questions because if I'm asking it's because I need an answer. That holds true for all of us because if we knew we wouldn't ask!

Occasionally a Dr will have a little attitude and say something like,"Why do you question that?" I just tell them politely that I'm not the Dr, they are, but I have to live with my body not them.

It's hard to stand up for yourself when you feel lousy, but it really does help. Don't let the Dr rush you either. I go to a visit with any questions I have written down and leave 3 blank lines underneath so I can write down the Dr's response and I even ask them how to spell things. We have to let them know that we are serious about taking care of ourselves because some Dr's like to just breeze in and out of the appointments.

@A myRAteam Member. Oh Boy!!! My skin is a huge problem and I take the oral methotrexate. My Dr says to only use Dove White Bar Soap. Tilt your head far back in the shower so you don't get any shampoo or conditioner on your skin. Rinse well with cooler water and immeadiately put on Eucerin Cream. I would avoid your injection site for at least 24 hrs, but it's best to ask your Dr how long you should avoid putting anything on the injection site.
Drink at least 10 -8 oz glasses of water a day. Ugh! Don't drink caffine because it dehydrates you quickly too.

I haven't tried this yet, but my Dr says to take a warm (Not hot! Hot water dries your skin faster and causes more itchiness) bath with a glass of whole milk warmed and mixed with 3 tbls of good olive oil poured into the bath.
Vit. E helps with skin dryness, as does Krill Oil (a fish oil Vit.). I just had the Shingles and my GP gave me a great cream. I will get the name of it tonight and let you know. Have you told your Dr about this reaction? Your Dr needs to know because maybe it has something to do with the methotrexate it self. I have very dry, itchy skin, but not bad bumps like yours. Do you cover the inject. site? I'm allergic to some surgical tape and band aids. I have to use paper tape and gauze pads. If you get bumps all over that sounds more like a systemic reaction than a localized one. Are you sure they're not hives?
Have you asked if the methotrexate interacts with any medicines, vitamins, supplements or food you take?
My Dr flipped at this idea.... , but 1st I got bit by a tick this past Summer on the back of the neck and had a bad allergic reaction. Then they tell me of course I would b/c I'm allergic to spider venom and ticks are in the spider family! But I couldn't see it so a couple times a day I took a picture with my cell phone so I could watch the spreading rash and also show him! Now I do it all the time and all my Dr's appreciate it. So maybe you should take a few photos to show your Dr when the bumps are at their worst.
Things are never at their worst by the time we get an appt.!

Did you had any problems with your skin due to the metrotexate?? Sinds I give my self the shots I got little bumps everywhere, they itch like crazy and they so hard to dissapear, plus they leave nice scars to !!
