Members shared mixed experiences with Cymbalta for rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia pain management, with many finding it significantly helpful for both chronic pain and depression, while others experienced challenging side effects like insomnia, hand tremors, dizziness, weight gain, and increased sweating. Several members emphasized that Cymbalta worked well for them when combined with their other treatments, particularly appreciating its dual purpose in addressing both pain and mood, though some noted important warnings about not stopping the medication abruptly due to withdrawal symptoms. A recurring theme was encouragement to try the medication under close medical supervision while staying alert to how your own body responds, since individual reactions vary widely.

Hi Ron, I've been on Cymbalta for over two years. As I've had a long history of major depression, and tried numerous medications over the years, I have to say that Cymbalta for me has been an answer to prayer. The only side effect I get from it is increased sweating. And to me that is nothing compared to the Side effects that I have experienced from many many other antidepressants. After I was diagnosed with RA and fibromyalgia, my psychiatrist has increased it for me. I went from 60 mg to 90mg, as my depression has increased now with having chronic pain. It is also commonly used for many illnesses including fibromyalgia. I pray that this is been helpful for you. God bless you, Connie

I have never had it but if you are at peace with it and the doctor is working closely with you on it, then don't even worry about reading the side effects let nature take its course and deal with it if and only if something comes up. You could be one of those people who sails through and it really helps. Keeping you in my prayer, Ron.

Sure Ron. Since I was taking Cymbalta before the diagnosis of RA and fibromyalgia, I really don't know how it is affecting my pain. Perhaps if I wasn't taking it my pain would be worse-who knows! I know that some doctors also use Neurontin for like peripheral neuropathy, fibromyalgia ,MS etc. praying that your knee surgery went well!
