Members discussed a nurse's recommendation to avoid dairy, with most sharing that they had never received dietary restrictions in their own treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, even after many years of living with the condition. Several members explained that dairy can trigger gut issues leading to inflammation and pain, and that certain medications like Hydroxychloroquine already cause stomach upset, which may be why the nurse suggested avoiding foods that could worsen digestive symptoms. A recurring theme was the importance of balancing potential benefits of eliminating dairy against the need for calcium to support bone health, with members encouraging consultation with a doctor or nutritionist before making major dietary changes.

Your nurse must be on a Paleo diet lol I've never been asked to change my diet by any doctor or nurse ever. They aren't trained to tell you.
