Cutting gluten out of my diet helps with swelling for me.
With all of the changes in my diet, now I'm down to unseasoned chicharrones, coconut milk yogurt, and blueberries, or occasionally strawberries. Giving up coffee was the worst! I now drink organic chickory root- not the type mixed with carob... Those mixes have gluten in them!
@A myRAteam Member, I don't think anything cures it, but according to some reading I did this morning, several ppl claimed their RA is cured from changing their diets.
I changed my diet drastically!! No dairy, no gluten, no eggs, no yeast, no sulfites, no avocadoes, no peas, no pineapple, no oranges (lemon and lime are o.k.) no grapefruit, no beans, no garlic, no carangeean, no guar gum, no soy no sugar, honey, or artificial sweeteners, no chocolate, no COFFEE!! no bananas, no winter squash, no potatoes , no corn, no soy, no nuts, no sunflower seeds, no spinach, kale or swiss chard, no potatoes, no bottled oils, except for olive oil or coconut oil... It helped tremendously!!! It makes it impossible to eat out, but with the pain these foods caused it's worth the trade-off... I had a blood test and all of these things showed that I had allergies to them! Chicken, red meat and fish (except shellfish) are my only choice of protein and for some crazy reason, I have no trouble digesting them! I used to get depressed everytime I went to the grocery store, and finally got so fed up, I wrote and published The No No No No Cookbook! I'd advise getting a food allergy blood test before doing something that drastic, as you miss out on a lot of important nutrients on such a restricted diet! I still take a fistful of vitamins every morning- once in a while, I slip up, and end up 2 days flat on my back because of it!
