Members shared their experiences with various rheumatoid arthritis medications in response to someone feeling desperate for relief, with Rituxan, Enbrel, Remicade, and Orencia mentioned most frequently as having provided meaningful improvement, though many noted that effectiveness varied over time or came with challenging side effects. Several members described struggling with methotrexate due to severe nausea and sickness, while others found combining it with biologics like Enbrel offered hope for remission, and many emphasized the trial-and-error nature of finding the right treatment. A recurring theme was perseverance through disappointment, with members encouraging each other to keep trying different options, consider dietary changes like eliminating dairy and gluten, and hold onto hope despite the frustrating reality that no cure exists yet.

The diet and supplements help a lot. I just started methotrexate and enbrel so far I have been sleeping a little better. I will give update when and if I start noticing joint relief.

Try what the doc gives you and hope for the best. My Rheumy said that there is no cure for this and the meds either works or it doesn't. That is in a nutshell. It has been helpful to read what works for others on this site and other helpful hints too. I need to try the diet too.

Remicade. I still have daily pain and have to use a cane wheelchair and or walker. But I'm more satisfied with this one compared to the rest. Hand in there don't give up. Just keep swimming....prayers

I have taken Humira, Enbrel, Cimzia, Orencia and Xeljanz. The Orencia helped the most, but I just got one infection after another so had to stop.

I eat clean foods. No dairy, soy, gluten or wheat. I try to get organic when possible. I eat mostly fruits, veggies, chicken(range free and antibiotic free) Turkey burgers, hummus, and coconut yogurt and coconut ice cream because we all need a treat:) I make butternut squash soup and drink a lot of caffeine free tea in the winter.
