I'm trying to figure out how to keep my home clean. Pain prevents me from keeping up with cleaning chores. I can't afford to pay a cleaning service. If I qualify for Medicaid will it pay for a chores worker?

I don't think so but I am not sure. I have the same problem. I have had to learn to let things go. My fiancee though he works monday thru saturday picks up the some the slack. I know it sucks. I have medicaid and bc of my history of depression I got myself into a program where I have a case manager that comes out twice a month I complained about not being able to clean and get things done but I have never received any help. I think we would have to let our houses get really bad before we got help but if you find something out let me know bc I could sure use the help too.

Yes we could all use the help. The pain and fatigue are so debilitating. The stress it causes to our body to not be able to do the simple things we used to do is evident. I find myself being so irritated I get angry easily. I cuss at my worthless body even. I am so sad I cry. And I know this escalates the cycle of pain. When one joint hurts and I get overly upset it seems to domino into more joints hurting. I try meditation but most days my mind refuses to mellow. I am a smart lady but pain rules my world. I know what to do but cant so often. I am hoping to get some type of pain relief. I sent my rheumy an email and told her that my quality of life had diminished to the point it was no longer worth living. She asked an assistant to help me find a doctor who can prescribe and of course monitor my pain medicine. So I pray every day that things will get better. I never forget each of you who are also dealing with the same things. Keeping you all in my prayers. Never give up!

I can feel your words. I have had since February maybe 0 painfree days. I am at my wits end and have finally started taking Advil. I have Hep c so I apparently can't take the other pain meds and treatments others can. So now I feel herbal remedies and supplements and of course exercise are my only salvation. Ask me about Immunical I am taking it twice a day and hope for some positive results. And Cherries are supposed to be great too. Anyhow. My right hip the actual bone and area are so tender that I can barely touch the whole hip and groin and the too of my leg. And My back halfway down my spine hurts and I can get up fro sitting or laying down. Without someone giving me their hand to pull myself up with.
pathetic or what well my kids joke but say. Maybe a home for you. And then there is the problem of being in pain everyday so no one listens or cares and then there is the. Ext day. Maybe remission. Maybe not. Something to wake up for.

If you qualify for Home Healthcare I believe you can get some household help. My daughter worked for Home Health taking care of a lady once. Just give one of your local agencies a call. They can tell you for sure.

I have a neighbor who receives household help 32 hours a week thru Medicaid. She is not even in as bad of shape as I am. She has been getting it for years. Guess you just have to know how to play the system. :(
