Comfortable bed

Just purchased a tempurpedic bed that was super expensive. Its going back as I still have as much pain trying to sleep as with my old bed. What I would like to know is there any of my RA friends that have a bed that has helped with night sleeping pain?

Several members described practical modifications that have helped them sleep better, including adjustable bases that elevate the head or feet like a hospital bed, heated mattress pads year-round to soothe aching joints, and Tempurpedic pillows for added support. A recurring theme was the shift away from the old advice to sleep on hard mattresses, with many members finding that softer surfaces that contour to the body provide far more pain relief, and for some, sleeping in a recliner has become the only way to avoid waking up in agony.

I have a heated mattress pad on my bed year around. Even just on low it helps so much..... during the winter I wish I could live with a heated cape wrapped around me 24/7.

I am a BeautyRest person- it's my 3rd one and I wouldn't ever change. I go for firm with a slight pillow top. I use the Tempurpedic pillows that you can get as a deal when you get a BeautyRest and they're awesome

I too have bought a Temporpedic. I got one that has a "sleep number" feature and I can adjust the firmness. I have it on a mechanical base that raises the head or feet. This has helped me a lot I love my Temporpedic pillows too

Just a pillow top mattress has helped my son in law. Not expincive mattress just pillow top. He can't sleep on regular mattress but a pillow top he sleeps like a baby.

We bought a Simmons Beautyrest Black (firm) with a deep pillow top. It was $2300 for a double mattress. I used to get all sorts of pain sleeping on our old mattress, but this bed is sublime. We have had it for five years and it is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. No pain ever!
