Being Yourself Is More Than Enough

Posted on May 14, 2018

"After years of feeling like I need to be better, stronger, healthier, and in control, I now know I am enough." -Member of myRAteam

Members of myRAteam experience the burden of rheumatoid arthritis physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Sometimes we strive to appear healthier than we are to avoid the stigma of RA. Other times, we experience relief and support from peers who've been in our shoes.

"I'm getting out of the rat race. I'm not hiding my pain anymore. If I'm tired, I'm going to rest. Hearing from others with RA has taught me that I have to prioritize ME." -Member of myRAteam

Here are recent conversations from members on myRAteam:

"I'm refusing to go to the Bad checkbox! A headache woke me up, both shoulders/arms are extremely angry at me this morning for some reason I can't figure out. At least so far the hips are behaving. BUT I have hope that the day will improve with a nap after I get my blood test."

"When we are n pain, we tighten up every muscle in our body, and the best advise I can give to anyone is to relax those muscles and joints. I felt so bad for her, It was like she was embarrassed. I didn't get her name but told her about this site. Hope she looks us up."

"I still have aches and pains that's something that happens daily my symptoms never go completely away but today they're tolerable and I accept that as a positive outcome."
