Enlarged lymph nodes can be associated with RA, but they aren't a typical hallmark symptom. That said, RA is a systemic inflammatory condition, meaning it can affect more than just the joints — and in some cases, lymph node swelling can occur as part of that broader inflammatory response.

It's worth knowing that RA is associated with a modestly higher risk of lymphoma, a condition affecting the lymphatic system. This doesn't mean that's what's happening, but it does mean that persistent, enlarged lymph nodes — especially ones that have been there for months or even years — are something that absolutely needs to be evaluated by a doctor.

A few important things to flag here:

- Lymph nodes that stay enlarged for a long time should never be ignored
- Both the neck (cervical) and armpit (axilla) areas are common places where lymph node changes can signal something that needs attention
- Only a rheumatologist or physician can determine whether this is related to RA or something else entirely

Please don't wait on this one — reach out to your rheumatologist or healthcare provider as soon as possible to get these evaluated. It may well be nothing serious, but it's always better to know for sure. 💙
