Hydroxychloroquine did wonders for me in the beginning. My doctor increased the dose when it stopped working well. Then, once that dose was at the max, we had to go to stronger medicines. I had no side effects from it.
Duloxetine for me was awful. I felt like I was going to pass out and had hot flashes so bad I could not sleep. Not everyone has that experience though. I have learned that each person must try medications and see what works for them. I would encourage you to try it and then not be afraid to stop it if it doesn't work well for you. Hopefully, your doctor will be willing to figure out what's best for you.
