I know with me, I've had infusions, I've given myself shits and I've taken pills. A lot of it is how you tolerated the meds and how they are given. Mine is usually whatever the insurance says I can have.

Great point — and good news, biologics like Orencia aren't just given as infusions! Orencia (abatacept) is actually one of the more flexible biologics because it's available in both forms:

- IV infusion — given at a clinic, typically once a month after an initial course
- Subcutaneous (under the skin) injection — which is what you're doing, self-administered weekly at home

Both delivery methods are completely valid ways to take Orencia. Self-injecting weekly is actually a popular choice for many people with RA because of the convenience of doing it from home on your own schedule. As one myRAteam member shared, after a few tries, self-injecting really does become second nature.

Sticking to a consistent time like noon is a smart habit — it helps make sure doses don't get missed. Just be sure to keep your rheumatologist in the loop about how the treatment is working for you!
