@A myRAteam Member I'm in the same boat! I've smoked on and off for about 25 years. I want to quit, but I wanted to quit all the other times I quit too. Maybe now that I have a reason to make it stick, it will actually work. I'm getting there and I have a plan. We will see how it goes!
@A myRAteam Member I used nicotine gum & also nicotine patches, but also really wanted to quit. I smoked on & off for 20 years but haven't smoked in 16 years.
I definitely know that having something in my mouth would help. Before I used hard candy, but now thats not really something that I should be eating a lot of. I was told by my rheumy to try lozenges for my dry mouth, so I have been using those. I dont know if its a bad idea, but the package says use as need. Hopefully nothing bad will come of me eating 9 of them a day lol!
I had a friend that chewed on a coffee stirrer. He just needed something in his mouth.
Thanks Lori! I will get there, but I want it to happen now. I know if I rush it, it will back fire on me. Slow and easy...I think lol!
