Carol, I've been on Alendronate for 3 years, had a 6.8% increase in bone density after 2 years, so I consider it a good drug. Have to go off it for dental work and surgery. Besides the newly diagnosed RA, I deal with ankylosing spondylitis and osteoporosis, so my daughter started me on it. Best of luck with your new drug schedule.

FranS2, I'm nervous too I start Cimzia in 2 weeks but probably this weekend I will start Alendronate pills once a week for osteoporosis. My rheumatologist prescribed both so I'm going to trust him.

Interesting that a side effect of Evenity is pain. I’ve experienced no increased pain with Alendronate - and I take it once a day.

Thanks for the info Terry! That makes me feel better.
Beverly, my mom is supposed to be starting Evenity. That's the fear she had, is the pain will be worse. She already has pain from her fractures in her back. I was hoping it will help her build her bones up. I don't know if she'll keep taking it if it hurts that bad.
