Hi Dinah, try a drug store over the counter cream called La Roche Posay, Lipikar AP +m cream. It takes a minute or 2 to get almost instant relief from burning itch.
I swear by this, it is a life saver!!

If you are dry from head to toe you probably are/have developed sjorgens. It a nasty cousin to RA. I have been battling it for years. I will tell you what I have found that’s best for me. I use a good moisturizer for my skin and hair If I don’t, I look like a fish with scales. I was told by the eye doctor to use preservative free eye drops. I order the generic kind of preservative free that works just as good. For dry mouth I use smart mouth. It has xylitol and zinc. The zinc helps with the teeth and gum health. Walmart carries it but cheaper on Amazon. I use lip balm several times a day. I have to wear CPAP at night that does have a humidifier built in but I also run a cool mist humidifier at night and sometimes in the daytime. There is other options for the other places that are dry if you want to know but the prescription for it can cause cancer. Your toe nails and finger nails will become brittle so I use Vaseline or Vicks vapor rub and put white gloves or the gel footies and gloves on.
Diet wise. I do not use salt or eat any foods that have high sodium. I do cheat sometimes with zero Gatorade. I do feel dry after drinking it. You will have to figure out for yourself what foods to avoid. I personally don’t eat anything that’s white. No carbonated drinks - regular or diet. No fried foods. You will have to figure out your triggers. Yes I do crave foods but I just go outside and walk around. This journey is difficult and it’s hard to be around people who can eat and drink anything. Drink water.
You can try Zyrtec or any antihistamine to see if it helps
I am sensitive to eye makeup and mascara. Just see if it can be a trigger. If you have other questions or ideas, just ask. We are here to support and educate each other. There are no dumb questions
Good Luck

Sherylchetcuti,
I get the itching too! Wasn't sure if it's related to RA, but it's certainly possible. Does anyone else get itchy eyes? I started using drops, which helps for a time. There are so many diff symptoms it's hard d to keep up, right?

Being short of breath with RA can be coming from meds and lung nodules etc The doctor must have missed class the day that it was explained So I suppose the doctor told you to lose weight and walk more If you are concerned or the shortness of breath is interfering with daily life, I would follow up with your primary doctor for chest X-ray, CT scan and lab work. It’s a shame that our bodies get what doctors call deconditioning because we do not feel like doing the right things at first. Most people find out that they have RA after having another health problem as fatigue, lung issues and my favorite brain fog. One doctor told me that it was a touch of dementia not brain fog. Needless to say before I could unload on him my husband set him straight. He will not be seeing me again. The medical doctor or who ever doctor you trust can do simple tests to figure out the shortness of breath. It could be from any body system that you have—lungs, heart, kidneys, thyroid etc
Make you an appt if you are concerned. Is the shortness of breath when you walk upstairs? How long does it last? Did it start with a new med? Does it do it with any certain activity like laying back in a recliner? Start noticing what you doing when it happens.
It will decrease your stress when you find out what’s going on
Good luck and may God bless you
