I am hooked on walking each day Monday through Friday. I think started mostly for giving me something to have on my schedule each day after retiring. Quite an adjustment from 40+ hours a week. Well once I got hooked I realized I didn't need any antidepressant either. Exercising releases several feel good hormones. Start with what is comfortable and build from there. Good luck on your adventure.

I was redianosed with Erosive Inflammatory Osteoarthritis and not RA. But I go to the gym and walk the track at UCF 4x+ a week. And I'm a stubborn Italian too😁

Are you managing to exercise regularly despite RA pain?

Your determination is inspiring! Many myRAteam members share your stubborn spirit about staying active despite the pain. While specific gym attendance numbers aren't available, members consistently emphasize the importance of keeping moving.

Here's what fellow members recommend about exercise with RA:

• Keep moving and stay active on days when you can
• Take it slow and don't push yourself too hard
• Stretch often throughout the day
• Rest when you need to - there's no shame in listening to your body
• Focus on what you can do rather than what you can't

The key seems to be finding balance. Members stress avoiding overexertion while maintaining activity levels that work for your body on any given day.

Your attitude of not giving up is exactly what many members encourage. One member put it perfectly: "Focus on what you can do. A positive attitude is a must."

Just remember that rest days are part of the plan too - they're not giving up, they're strategic recovery. Keep that Italian stubbornness working for you, but also give yourself grace on the tougher days.
