Hi my warriors, I want to wish everyone a happy, prosperous, pain free NEW YEAR.
About the Orencia, yes I took it for 8 years and had to get off of it. It stopped working. On the 6th I will start REMACADE I have never taken it so I'm hopping it will help me. They say it will take 4 hour's for the first 3. I get it every 2 weeks, when I received the 3rd last one I go every month. So I hope it will help me like Orencia did. So that day I will try not to do anything, just sleep.
This NEW YEAR I will try to be kind to myself, do what I can and not over do. Keep in to touch with you'll and be more patient. Be good to yourself, help others, smile 😃 😊 , say something nice and land a helping hand. Please be safe don't drink and drive

BE SAFE AND GOD BLESS LOOKING FOWARD TO TALKING TO YOU'LL

I understand. So far, I like it. I found out that sweating is part of RA for some of us. Thank you for replying. I am sorry you have spinal problems. The pain I have in my hands and feet is enough to do me so I can’t imagine having nerve problems. Prayers for you.

I was on Orencia for 12 years and got along great until I started to swell in my hands and wrists. My body got used to it. Crap! I’ve never found anything that worked as well as it did. But of course now the RA is all over in my spine and causing a lot of nerve issues.

Has anyone experienced excessive sweating while taking Orencia?

Excessive sweating can be a challenging side effect when starting new RA treatments. While sweating isn't commonly listed as a direct side effect of Orencia specifically, many people with RA experience profuse sweating for various reasons.

RA inflammation itself may affect how your brain regulates body temperature. Some people with RA also develop autonomic dysfunction, where the body struggles to properly control automatic functions like temperature regulation.

It's important to talk with your rheumatologist about this symptom. They can help determine if the sweating is related to Orencia, your RA activity, or another factor. Don't stop taking Orencia without their guidance.

In the meantime, here are some strategies that may help:

* Wear layers so you can remove clothing if you get hot
* Take cool showers, especially before bed
* Drink cold beverages or eat frozen foods to cool down from the inside
* Wear moisture-wicking or breathable fabrics
* Consider wearing darker colors that may hide sweat marks better

Many myRAteam members understand how embarrassing and isolating excessive sweating can feel. One member shared they started wearing all black scrubs at work to hide sweating, while others described feeling like recluses because of it.

You're not alone in this experience, and there are ways to manage it.
