What experiences are others having with Rinvoq for rheumatoid arthritis?
Rinvoq (upadacitinib) is a once-daily extended-release tablet that works by inhibiting the JAK1 signaling protein to help manage RA symptoms. It's typically prescribed for people who haven't responded well to or can't tolerate methotrexate alone.
Many myRAteam members discuss their experiences with various RA medications, including JAK inhibitors. While individual experiences vary, these medications have been shown to slow irreversible joint damage similarly to other RA treatments like biologics.
Important considerations:
Since Rinvoq is relatively newer (FDA approved in August 2019), it's helpful to stay in close contact with your rheumatologist about how you're responding. They can monitor for any side effects and adjust your treatment if needed.
Some members find it useful to connect with others on similar medications to share experiences. You might want to talk with your doctor about what to expect and any specific concerns you have about this medication.
