With this flare it hurts in a line below my hip and another in a line above my knee and a line across my foot. I do hurt everywhere but this will just come on for about 10 minutes the go. But I have been limping since it started.

Members shared how their rheumatoid arthritis flares affect them, with most experiencing whole-body pain that often intensifies in specific areas like the neck, spine, hips, hands, or feet, accompanied by swelling, fatigue, and difficulty moving. Several members described practical relief strategies including hip injections, short-term prednisone increases, neck nerve ablations, and daily neck exercises, while others noted overlapping conditions like fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, bursitis, and neuropathy that make it challenging to pinpoint the exact source of pain. A recurring theme was the frustration of distinguishing flare pain from other health issues and the importance of rest, stress management, and self-advocacy in navigating the unpredictable nature of the disease.

My pain is mainly in my wrists and hand joints, but I experience pain in my arms between joints too. Before my diagnosis in July I had severe pain in my upper left arm. Bad enough I should have gone to the ER, but didn't. Thankfully it hasn't come back and I still don't know what it was.

Carol, also wanted to add that my right hip needs replaced so if I'm overly tired it will hurt more so then my RA.

Carol, I can't honestly answer that because I have Fibromyalgia too so I can't tell which is hurting--the fibro or the RA. Sorry you're not feeling well.
