Balance problems and dizziness can be related to rheumatoid arthritis or its treatments. These symptoms could indicate a flare or be side effects from medications like corticosteroids, which can affect blood pressure and cause dizziness. Fear of falling is a common concern, but it's important not to let it lead to avoiding physical activity or social isolation. It's crucial to discuss these new symptoms with your rheumatologist right away. They could be related to your RA, medication side effects, or associated conditions that need medical attention. Your doctor can evaluate whether your current treatment plan needs adjustment and recommend appropriate solutions to help manage these symptoms safely.

I have experienced this too & am not sure if it's because of the disease, the meds or my vertigo & sometimes it is totally debilitating & it has gotten worse over the past 2 years! I have needed to start walking with a cane too because of it. The longest extreme dizziness I've had was up to a week & the mildest incident can sometimes last anywhere from an hour up to 2 weeks. Talk to your Rheumatologist or Primary Care doctor. If mine continue to get worse my Rheumatologist suggested that I may need to see an ENT or a neurologist.

You might have Vertigo. Try the head repositioning exercises on YouTube to realign the crystals in your inner ear. My husband swears it works.
