Just as a follow up . I ended the trial and went back on the Olumiant. Itches gone away…. Thank goodness.
I will be discussing it all with my rheumatologist next month. maybe I do have some kind of psoriasis but for the moment I’m just thankful not to be so itchy and as you said maybe the treatment would just be the same.
For years my Rumi treated me for "Poly Arthritis". It wasn't until last year when my Dermatologist diagnosed me with Psoriasis & Psoriatic Arthritis that he finally felt like there was a definitive diagnosis! He treated me with RA drugs the whole time though.
I am beginning to wonder if I have had the same miss diagnosis. I was diagnosed with zero negative 10 years ago and spent the first few of those trying treatments which either didn’t work or the side effects were terrible . The last 2 have been on Olumiant which have almost removed all my pain but still I have fatigue . With the idea that the drug is causing the fatigue the dr has stopped it for a trial. Now I’m sooo itchy I can’t think! No extra joint pain though?? Do I really have RA or something else??Not sure what to think.
This must be a concerning and confusing situation. It's important to know that having seronegative RA (testing negative in blood work) can make diagnosis more challenging, but it doesn't mean you don't have RA. Some people with RA are diagnosed based on clinical symptoms rather than blood tests.
