This is an important medical situation that requires immediate attention from your healthcare provider. When taking DMARDs and biologics, you should always notify your healthcare provider if you need antibiotics or are experiencing symptoms of an infection.

Your doctor may need to temporarily adjust your RA medications while treating the infection, as some combinations can suppress your immune system. Don't stop taking any medications suddenly without consulting your healthcare provider. They can help create a safe treatment plan that addresses both your infection and manages your RA symptoms. They may adjust doses or recommend additional therapies to help prevent or manage any potential flares during this time.

Denise,
If you cannot speak with a Rheumatologist, call your Pharmacist.
Many times they will know more about any possible reactions.
