I have a message into my GI/Hepa doctor inquiring regarding the safety of beginning a new biologic, Actemra. I realize this thread is about methotrexate and I am interested in the effects of that, too, on the liver as I have recently been diagnosed with stage 2 NAFLD and liver fibrosis. My rheumatologist, after telling her that Simponia ARIA was making my symptoms worse, without conversation DC'd the Simponi ARIA (which I do not oppose) and decided unilaterally to start Actemra. I'm not even sure she is aware of my new liver diagnoses.
