I've tried ice packs and the otc creams but this round of swollen ankles and itchy pain in my ankles calves and legs is painful. This am I am trying a few aspirin to see if that will subside the pain but I'd love any feedback on if aspirin helps with this?

I had a stretch about 2 years ago of unaccountable foot and ankle swelling. A 4-hour car ride set the ball in action. PCP ran a battery of tests and all seemed well, so no explanation. Finally she settled on venous insufficiency when blood pumps just fine down to feet. But not enough power in blood vessels in leg to pump it from feet back up. This causes edema, thus foot and ankle swelling.
I do take meds for high blood pressure but it's well controlled.
It happens when sitting too long, working at desk etc. So, I remember to get up and walk around.
Furosemide helps with the swelling especially when travelling. I have a motion footrest under my desk like a teeter totter I rock my feet. Compression socks when necessary.
And often, I have no problem at all with this venous insufficiency. Go figure.
Arnica massage balm relieves reumatic pain in your ankles & legs. Make of oil weleda.
