Arthritis rings are very helpful too. There are different types. One is a spiral. One has a loop midway, that fits on top of the knuckle joint. You still have full range of motion, but they stabilize the joint so it doesn't move sideways causing pain. It also keeps the joint in place so it doesn't wear the cartilage or bone away in the wrong spots. They are usually made of sturdy stainless. Silver and gold filled too but at a higher price. I prefer the sturdy stainless. I dont even notice I have them on at times.
They are totally adjustable. You may need to burnish the ends if they are too blunt. Any jeweler could do that for you.

I wear stiff thumb wrist braces at times. Especially walking dogs. I sleep in neoprene wrist braces. It helps a lot. But I can't sleep in the gloves. Yes the rings can be slept in if night swelling isn't bad bc they are open spirals, not welded closed anywhere.

Compression gloves are designed to help individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) manage symptoms such as swelling, pain, and stiffness in their hands. Here's a summary of key points regarding compression gloves based on the context provided:

- **Effectiveness**: Many myRAteam members have reported significant improvements in their RA symptoms after wearing compression gloves. They are particularly praised for providing relief from pain, reducing swelling, and giving a sense of comfort or a "hug" to the hands.

- **Types of Gloves**:
- **Thermal Compression Gloves**: These gloves, like Thermoskin’s, are made from a lightweight, insulating material that provides warmth along with compression. They are beneficial for both pain relief and reducing stiffness, especially noted for their effectiveness during crafting activities and in colder weather.
- **IMAK Arthritis Gloves**: Recognized by the Arthritis Foundation’s Ease of Use Program, these gloves are designed to relieve hand stiffness, aches, and pains by providing mild compression, which helps in warming the hands and increasing blood flow.
- **Vive Arthritis Gloves**: Recommended for their “smart seam” design to prevent irritation, these gloves are noted for their effectiveness in managing RA symptoms.

- **User Experiences**: Users have shared varied experiences, with many finding relief and comfort in using the gloves, especially during the night or while engaging in activities that exacerbate their symptoms. However, some members have mentioned difficulties in finding gloves that fit well due to severe swelling or have experienced discomfort while wearing them.

- **Choosing the Right Gloves**: It's important to find gloves that fit well, as improperly fitting gloves won't provide the intended benefits. It may be helpful to try several pairs to find the best fit.

- **Research and Recommendations**: While personal testimonials and some studies suggest benefits from wearing compression gloves, it's noted that there has been no large, randomized trial to compare the efficacy of arthritis gloves with conventional medications. Nonetheless, they are often recommended by healthcare professionals as a complementary treatment method.

Remember, it's always advisable to consult with a healthcare provider, such as a rheumatologist or occupational therapist, before trying new therapeutic gloves to ensure they are suitable for your specific needs and condition.
