Does anyone successfully use gloves to straighten fingers and relieve pain?
Compression gloves are great.
Arthritis rings are very helpful too. There are different types. One is a spiral. One has a loop midway, that fits on top of the knuckle joint. You still have full range of motion, but they stabilize the joint so it doesn't move sideways causing pain. It also keeps the joint in place so it doesn't wear the cartilage or bone away in the wrong spots. They are usually made of sturdy stainless. Silver and gold filled too but at a higher price. I prefer the sturdy stainless. I dont even notice I have them on at times.
They are totally adjustable. You may need to burnish the ends if they are too blunt. Any jeweler could do that for you.
I wear stiff thumb wrist braces at times. Especially walking dogs. I sleep in neoprene wrist braces. It helps a lot. But I can't sleep in the gloves. Yes the rings can be slept in if night swelling isn't bad bc they are open spirals, not welded closed anywhere.
I haven’t had a problem with my hands, but I appreciate you posting this & sharing the info.
I really like compression gloves. They seem to provide some relief. Worth a try.
