Mine is RA as well and affects my blood pressure. It runs the same as inflammation. My PCP has increase my bp meds, and is having me monitor my blood pressure at different times of the day, so she can see if there is a pattern. Typically, when my Mom had heart failure she would retain fluids. You could press her ankles with your thumb, gently, and it would cause a white pressure point on her ankle. Following this same procedure on my ankles does not reflect this white pressure point.

I noticed that when I have the swelling in my ankles and feet that I also gain about 4 or 5 pounds. So that must mean its my Blood Pressure and not RA. The water weight is what put on the pounds.
I have swelling in my feet and ankles. The dr gave me a fluid pill which helps a lot. I only take it when the swelling occurs. However, CHF runs in my family, and I remember my mom taking fluid pills when CHF was diagnosed with her.
