I developed allergy all over my body when I first took Sulfasalazine. Leflunomide has been doing well for me.

They added Sulfasalazine to my regimen of hydroxychloroquine and Leflunomide, four days later I couldn’t go up three steps, I am a runner and this drug wiped me out. I stopped the Sulfasalazine and four days after that I was back to my normal self. I still have inflammation but that to me is better than fatigue and total exhaustion.

I hope it works for you. Methotrexate is an option for me, but I have GERD, so maybe not. To be honest, I don’t which of the two evils is worse; heartburn/mouth ulcers or constant itching all over.

My rheumatologist is adding Sulfasalazine along with Enbrel. I’ll let you know. Good luck.
