How can I tell if the new pain in my shoulder is RA pain, Osteo pain, bone marrow edema pain or something I should see my ortho guy about?

Hi Judy,

I have not found a method of figuring out which pain is OA or RA. An Ortho doctor will take x-rays which may help in determining what's going on with your shoulder. If your shoulder is arthritic, the Osteo-doctor will refer you to your Rheumatologist, although he may prescribe cortisone injections for your shoulder as well.
