Members shared mixed experiences with energy drinks in response to someone trying V8 Energy, with concerns centering on high sodium, sugar content, and potential health risks, including personal stories of family members experiencing serious cardiac events. Several members suggested healthier alternatives for managing RA-related fatigue, including homemade infused waters with cucumber and mint, protein shakes, B-vitamin supplements, Ultima Replenisher powder, and small amounts of 5-Hour Energy used strategically. A recurring theme was the importance of reading labels carefully, moderating caffeine intake given RA's cardiovascular risks, and finding individualized solutions that balance the need for energy with overall health, with many ultimately preferring plain water, rest, and good nutrition over commercial energy drinks.

I drink a V8 energy drink each morning it helps get me going. My coffee is decaf and so was my tea until Milo’s discontinued their ready made. I don’t think caffeine bothers me, although one doctor told me caffeine is dehydrating, so I do watch the amount I consume.
