I know 2 people that take it, for reasons other than weight loss. Both have lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. It’s an injection. I’m going to ask my ra dr about it

Members shared mixed experiences with Mounjaro, a diabetes injection increasingly used off-label for weight loss, with some reporting significant weight loss (10-25 pounds) but many struggling with persistent nausea, vomiting, and insurance denials since most plans only cover it for diabetic patients. Several members expressed concern that the medication should be prioritized for diabetics who genuinely need it, noting shortages and access issues, while others warned about severe side effects including one member's daughter being hospitalized in ICU for uncontrollable vomiting. A recurring theme was frustration over medication-induced weight gain from RA treatments, the difficulty exercising with joint limitations, insurance barriers to weight management support, and concerns about regaining weight once stopping the injections.

I have looked at the side effects of this medication and it causes thyroid tumors. I already am on thyroid medication so i won't try it

Good morning Mary ☀️Ty, I will look into resources. One of the side effects is nausea. (I did see cancer) I was thinking about this for short term use for weight loss. When I was on mtx alone I gained some weight but when enbrel was added I’ve gained more… my kids even say “ Gee Mom you don’t eat very much “ I’ll talk to my dr about it early February appointment. Hope you have a great day 💕

Hi. Veronica. I’m really interested in learning about this new drug. Keep us posted. Oddly-I tuned in to the Talk recently and the first thing I noticed was Sheryl’s weight loss! Now I know how she did it! I’ve just got to do something about my weight. Good luck my friend.
