I have been on Actemra (Tocilizumab) since 2017. It has made a huge difference to my quality of life. I was diagnosed in the mid 1990s and was lucky that Salazopyrin worked for me for about 20 years. After some stressful life events my RA took off again and I spent a few years on Methotrexate which was like poison for me. Thankfully I was eventually prescribed Actemra and it has worked. As mentioned above, it can affect cholesterol levels ans blood pressure too. That has been my experience. Also a lot of UTIs since I've been on it. However the relief of the RA symptoms has made it worthwhile. I have also developed peripheral neuropathy while on Actemra but I'm not sure there is a connection with the treatment. I took it about 11 years ago. In my case it was amazing for 6 months then stopped working but it might work better for you. It raises your cholesterol so you have to take statins with it.

I took Actemra for about a month. I had a horrible allergic reaction to it, but I have a friend who has taken it and does very well. I am on Rinvoq now. Not really sure it helps me that much.

The other name for it is Actemra. I was on it for a short time bit had horrible stomach problems so i had ro stop taking it. It may work foe you because eqch medication can be different for each person. Wishing you the best.
