After no success with MTX, Humira, or Rinvoq, my doctor is switching me to Orencia - specifically, the ClickJect self-injecting pen. Anyone on Orencia, please share any side effects and positives/negatives you've experienced while being on it. Is the pain similar to Humira?
Thanks for all your help and insights. βœŒοΈπŸŒ»πŸ’œ

Members shared experiences with Orencia after previous biologics failed, with many reporting minimal injection pain compared to Humira and generally mild or no side effects beyond occasional fatigue or feeling warm. Several members described initial effectiveness that sometimes decreased over time, leading them to switch from injections to infusions, while one member had to discontinue due to severe diverticulitis flare-ups that required hospitalization. A recurring theme was cautious optimism, with members hoping the medication would provide lasting relief while remaining mindful that individual responses vary and close monitoring with doctors is essential.

Orencia injections worked well for me at the begining. After about 4 months it quit work so well. I didnt have any pain from the injection, however, i was a little tired the night of and day after. After a few injections. I had no side effects. I am now doing orencia infusions. I hope this helps you

I have sensitive bowls ( diverticulitis) and this was highly aggravated for me with Orencia. I ended up in the Hospital for treatments several times. This side effect was confirmed by my doctor at which point I stopped Orencia. I have tried three other biologics and they all do the same for me. Hope this helps -All the best .

Hi, I took Orencia infusion. I loved it and it was the best biologic I ever tried. I developed a serious eye infection while on Orencia so they took me off of it. I would recommend it. Also Wikipedia has a very good article on Orencia that helped me decide to ask for it. Best wishes.
