In a visit with my rheumatologist, I was telling her about this serious pain going down my leg, so she had me have an MRI to see what’s going on in my back. Pain pills mAke me extremely anxious. The anxiety is worse than the oain
I was diagnosed with RA in my spine. No way I would have any kind of back surgery. That worries me from what I've heard. Maybe bigger problems. Pain in lower back, hips, and upper legs are real painful. I am on pain pills. They work but takes a little time. Sometimes it feels like my legs are going to go out and I mine go down. One time in hospital they said I had chronic pain syndrome. But with pain pills I have it pretty much under control. I'm not a addicted and I'm not going to sue my doctor. But you need pain pills because the pain can be 10 and above.

Is it possible you have Osteoarthritis as well? Some people have both OA and RA, in combination they cause a great deal of pain. You may want to request a referral to a spine specialist in order to seek help with this condition.
Hi what I have found is anti inflammatories help, tens unit helps & heat. I have L4 & L5 slipped and the nerve root is compressed. When it acts up the pain down my right leg is awful, the worst. I have an epic acupuncturist who was a neurosurgeon in China, so that helps a lot and I have an osteopath whose very helpful
