My eyes are very dry in fact sore and this only occurs during the night when I'm sleeping. I have found an eye drop gel called hilo and it works wonderfully. It provides almost instant relief however I do have to reapply several times during the night.
I have very dry eyes
I’ve been getting dry eyes for a year or so. I will use over the counter eye drops but none was working. So my rheumatologist prescribed me Restasis eye drops. It has helped me tremendously.
My eyes water constantly especially my right eye. Eye clinic at hospital flushed tear ducts, then gave me laser but hasn’t changed anything. In fact if anything it’s got worse, my right eye always seems swollen and red and puffy underneath. Dii is Essex anyone else have same problem.
Yes, I can help.
RA causes dry eyes which can lead to eye infections. Sjogren's syndrome is another autoimmune disorder; many patients with RA develop Sjogren's. Keep in mind, once we have one autoimmune disorder, we can develop another. You can have your Rheumatologist test you for many autoimmune disorders. The Avise tests for Sjogren's, see the link below.

I have autoimmune Optic Neuropathy. I had dry eyes for a long time, then I started having eye pain, broken blood vessels. I use Refresh eye drops 4 times a day. Refresh eye drops are available over the counter. They really do help and are recommended by an Ophthalmologist.
This link discusses how RA can affect your eyes.
