Does anyone suffer from painful neuropathy in your lower legs, feet and ankles?
Do you know what caused it? What type of treatment are you getting? How was is diagnosed?
Sorry for so many questions just trying to figure things out. Last visit to rheumatologist, he suggest it may be a possibility.
Thanks

Yes my pain is constant and gets worse at night. Damage to nerves cause the pain but as I’m reading many answers to Q&A’s a few people said the drugs they were taking attributed to the neuropathy. My experience has been that methotrexate caused me severe pain that felt like bone pain and as if someone was twisting my ankles. When I went off of it the severe pain went away. I am now on the Leflunomide and I thought I was tolerating it well with very little side affects but now I’m not sure if it is causing my pain because the pain is getting worse again. I started gabapentin which is for the nerve pain but it hasn’t done much yet. I am also trying to get in with a neurologist. I have so many questions and I feel they can treat the neuropathy the best. I’ll keep you posted with any additional information I may find. Hope you start feeling better.

May I ask what causes the pain in your neuropathy? Is it constant?
Yes a neurologist is the one that can do a nerve conduction test. It’s definitely worth going thru. Not too painful especially if u compare it to the pain I go thru daily.

Thanks for your response. My rheumatologist is the one that suggested the neuropathy when I asked why my feet hurt when the blankets and sheets are on them. It's so hard to sleep. May I ask what kind of doctor ordered the nerve conduction tests? I have a neurologist so should it be something I mention to her do you think?
I also had a nerve conduction test which diagnosed the neuropathy in both of my feet. I have just started the gabapentin so not sure how it will work. I do know it won’t cure it. It will only mask the pain. I am now planning to see a neurologist to make sure I know all my options to combat this horrible thing. Let me know if you find any solutions.
